Mel Goodman's Bio
Mel Goodman starting teaching at DuSable High School in 1967 and remained at DuSable High School for 36 years until his retirement in 2003. Mel was a history teacher for 4 years and then became a counselor and Chairman of the Guidance Department for 32 years.
Mel has served on the Mary Herrick Scholarship Fund Board of Directors for the past 25 years as the Scholarship Coordinator. During this time, Mel has overseen the scholarship application process and the disbursement of over $300,000.00 in scholarship funds to over 400 students.
Even though Mel is retired, he still continues to work and support DuSable High School and serve on the Mary Herrick Scholarship Board of Directors.
